"BE PREPARED!" by twettach on September 9, 2005, 2:12 pm, in category General
If we learn nothing else from this terrible tragedy, let us be warned that each and everyone one of us of able body and sound mind must be personally prepared for a disaster of any type especially if live near the coast or hurricane prone areas. We cannot as a nation rely on the government to take care of us NOR should we ever. There is no practical way the federal or state government could be or should be responsible for the safety of each and everyone of us. Granted they should have a plan to .....

"Good News For  a CHANGE!" by twettach on September 9, 2005, 11:41 am, in category General
I have good news for a change! Something that makes me glad and proud to live in Texas (besides the amount of charity and donations my city and state and neighbors are making to the flood victims - some unappreciated by the recipients, by the way). I learned that the one of only 4 laws the Texas legislature passed this summer in three special sessions was a guarentee of personal residential and business property rights to guarentee our land and businesses could not be taken  by governm.....

"Donations" by twettach on August 31, 2005, 10:07 am, in category General
If you can spare it, strongly recommend sending donations locally to Star of Hope www.sohomission.org ; Houston Food Bank www.houstonfoodbank.org ; and American Red Cross, www.redcross.org to help the Katrina Hurricane Victims. Many are taking refuge in Houston and these organizations need our help. Try to give at least 5 times what we gave the Tsunami Victims in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. These are our own people suffering. Our hearts and prayers go out to them. Email me if any problems or q.....

"Great Depression TWO" by twettach on August 12, 2005, 6:30 am, in category General
Get ready folks, fill your spare gas cans and brush the dust off your scooters. I am retiscent to predict it, but better to know what's coming than to be an ostrich. The deterioration is going to start, and its gonna proceed in record rate that no one ever expected. You thought I was joking about 3 Gas? Fraid not, like E.T., "there here" .... No - I am not depressed, or negative as some would paint those who see the truth and prepare. Oil is up over 10% in a week, on a runaway futures' freight t.....

"Shanghai'd in Shanghai" by twettach on August 12, 2005, 6:14 am, in category General
"Shanghai'd in Shanghai ...Stood on in Tuscon
Ripped off and kicked right out the bed, Shanghai'd in Shanghai, Laid low in 'Frisco, Done in and left behind for dead" ...courtesy of Nazareth, 1974. This about sums it up folks! CISCO systems experiencing it first hand. Now that our "friends" in China have been handed over all the plans for our hard earned technology, all these American companies banking on China to bail them out, are getting a RUDE awakening when they find out WHO IS GONNA win.....

"Gimme A Break!" by twettach on August 10, 2005, 8:12 am, in category The Stock Market
Just like Kindergarten, now they are all repeating the fib.
"A STRONG EMPLOYMENT REPORT"! Gimme a break folks. THe economists did such a DISMAL job in forecasting the volitle
monthly Non-farm payroll, this time around they predicted the 3 month moving average of ONLY a 180K Jobs. Well guess what, even in the heat of summer, our economy created only 207K jobs in July. Estimates have it that it takes 200K to 300K new jobs every month just to break even with new entrants to job market, not .....

"Update on Job Cuts" by twettach on July 26, 2005, 7:31 am, in category General
As promised, to be REAL, said would try to keep up with the announced layoffs (difficult job to keep up with!) so we can dispell the myth of 5% unemployment out there by government propaganda from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Reportedly June 2005 has been worse month for layoffs since March of 2001. (could be off on the exact months).
Hewlett Packard: 7/20 19,500 jobs over next 6 quarters
Kimberly Clark: 6000 jobs 7/20 closing over 20 plants

"BEAR TRAP" by twettach on July 20, 2005, 8:47 am, in category The Stock Market
As the S&P500 hit fresh 4 year highs, the NASDAQ and SOX seemingly Breakout and lure in the SUCKERS, a 0.6% in gross margins (56.4% vs. expected 57%) underachievement by INTEL, despite the eternal SUGAR COATING by the seemingly always DRUNK looking Andy Bryant (Intel's CFO), has caused the SOX (SMH) and the NASDAQ futures to reverse course as all the pundits and used up has been anaylsts came on TV and told everyone that tech stocks were back in vogue and the lemmings piled in. "May(tag) they Rest in Peace" by twettach on July 20, 2005, 8:37 am, in category General
May Jesse White (the original Maytag Repairman 1967-88), Gordon Jump (from WKRP in Cincinatti Fame, repairman from
1989-2003) and Hardy Rawls (a former Mr. Goodwrench)all rest in peace as Haier, the Chinese company trying to aquire Maytag, HAS WITHDRAWN IT'S BID, thanks to a competing offer from Whirlpool and Ripplewood. They now can stop turning in their graves as another American ICON withstands the onslaught of the Xeng DYNASTY, though they continue to SUFFER from the competition of force.....
