Also, please, let us never forget the victims and lost souls and grieving families of September 11th, 2001,
the American embassies in Africa, the U.S.S. Cole and those who've died or been wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq,
and the selfless, heroic men and women (and their families) of our military, police, fire and EMS
who sacrifice everything -- everyday
to ensure our safety and our freedoms and the freedoms of others around the world, not to mention
the countless other wars and conflicts in which our forefathers and mothers sacrificed everything to allow
us the privilege and pleasure of jumping on our bikes and waving our freak-flags high!

From a wise man came some valuable words to heed, some two plus centuries ago,
that were indeed far ahead of their time, but nonetheless quite contempory ...

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a
little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." 

Perhaps a bit less prophetic, some classic lyrics from a famous Southern Rock Star,
nonetheless,  pretty much sums it for this ole country boy:
